Managing my contacts
7. How do I manage my mailing lists?
Your mailing lists represent the most important information the NetRealCampaigns system needs in order to work. You cannot send messages if you do not have recipients.
You can create several lists of contacts, edit or delete them. This will enable you to group your audience after various criteria, such as interest in a certain area, age, sex, professional status. You will be able send these groups the campaigns that interest them the most.
Log into your NetRealCampaigns account, press on the "Campaigns Management" button on the top menu. The "Mailing List" tab is located at the top of the left-side menu.
A mailing list has three elements:
- the contacts it contains
- the campaigns assigned to it – these campaigns will be sent to all the contacts in the list
- the message template for your emails
We have created three default mailing lists to help you get started: the Demo list, the Buyer list and the Seller list. Your email address has been added to all three of them. Each of these lists has a default template and two campaigns assigned to it. Our system will start sending you the first emails immediately after you've registered. That way, you will be able to see how your messages will look like before you start adding your own contact list.
Each of your lists has managing links next to its name: "Manage Contacts", "Edit", "Delete", and "Generate". Use the "Manage Contacts" page to add and manage the contacts contained in the list. The "Edit" link will take you to a page where you will be able to change the name of the list, the message template and to manage the campaigns assigned to the list. To delete the list and all the contacts it contains, press on the "Delete" link.
Click on the "Generate" link to get the code for the subscription form for each mailing list. You can include this code into your website and your visitors will be able to subscribe to your mailing lists (and the campaigns it contains) automatically.
You can make you own lists as well, by pressing the "Add mailing list" button. Use the "Add mailing list" page to set the characteristics of your mailing list: the list's name, the campaigns that will be sent to the list's contacts, and the list's message template.
To set the name of the list, use the "Name" field.
Next, set the campaigns. Use the two boxes "Available campaigns" and "Mailing list campaigns". Click on the campaign you wish assigned, then click on the "Right arrow" button to add it to the "Mailing list campaigns" box. To select multiple campaigns, hold the Ctrl key down and select the campaigns by clicking with your mouse on them.
Next, choose a template for your messages. All the messages sent to this mailing list, no matter what campaigns are assigned, will have this template. To save your settings, press on the "Submit" button.
8. How do I import contacts?
Instead of adding each contact manually, you can save time and effort by importing your Outlook or Outlook Express address books.
Log into your NetRealCampaigns account, press on the "Campaigns Management" button on the top menu. The "Mailing List" tab is located at the top of the left-side menu.
Click on the "Manage contacts" link next to the list you want to add contacts to. On the "Contacts management" page, click on the "Import contacts" link to get to the importing form.
Press the "Browse" button to import contact lists from your personal computer. Note that the list file must be in .CSV format. For more information about importing, please check out the two tutorials at the bottom of the page. Click each of the respective links to open windows containing detailed instructions regarding the importing process from Outlook Express and Outlook.
Click on the "Import contacts" button to finish.
9. How do I add contacts manually?
Log into your NetRealCampaigns account, press on the "Campaigns Management" button on the top menu. The "Mailing List" tab is located at the top of the left-side menu.
Click on the "Manage contacts" link next to the list you want to add contacts to. On the "Contacts management" page, click on the "Add contact" link.
The "Add contact" page is used for adding contacts one by one.
The "Add contact" page contains a form with several fields covering the basic personal data of each contact: name, email address, birth date, phone numbers and address. Use this form to add your contact's email and personal data to the contact list.
Fill in the fields with your contact's info, then press the "Submit" button to save. You can choose whether to go to a new "Add contact" page or to return to the contact list, by pressing the appropriate button at the bottom of the form. Or alternatively, you can use the "Return to list" link at the top of the page.
10. How do I manage my contacts?
Log into your NetRealCampaigns account, press on the "Campaigns Management" button on the top menu. The "Mailing List" tab is located at the top of the left-side menu.
Click on the "Manage contacts" link next to the list you want to modify.
Use the tools on the "Contacts Management" page to manage your contact list: add, edit, delete, search and import contacts, and clean up the unreachable recipients. You will be able to keep your list organized and up-to-date.
Also on this page, you can find the tools necessary to assign campaigns to your contacts.
Start off by adding your contacts to the mailing list. To add a new contact, press the "Add contact" link.
To import contacts from Outlook or Outlook Express, press the "Import contacts" link.
Press the "List clean up" link to remove the contacts to whom the newsletter couldn't be delivered (bounced emails). Press the "List unsubscribers" link to see the contacts who decided to unsubscribe from the campaigns.
The search form is located underneath the top list of links. Type a keyword (name, email address) in the field and press the "Go" button.
Each of the contacts in the list has a check box next to it and four tools for management: details, campaigns, edit, and delete.
Use the "Edit" link to modify your contact's information. The "Details" link provides quick access to the contact's personal data and statistics.
To delete a contact, press the "Delete" link to remove it.
To move and copy contacts between mailing lists use the "Copy" and "Move" buttons underneath the contact list. Select the contact (or contacts), then choose the mailing list from the drop-down menu next to the button, and press the "Copy" or "Move" button.
11. What does it mean to clean up my contact list and how do I do it?
The "List clean up" feature removes the contacts to whom the newsletter couldn't be delivered (bounced emails). It is important to keep your contact list organized and up to date. The list may contain the wrong email address, or the email address may have been disabled for some reason.
A soft bounce is an email that gets as far as the recipient's mail server but is bounced back undelivered before it gets to the intended recipient. This might occur because the recipient's inbox is full. A soft bounce message may be deliverable at another time or may be forwarded manually by the network administrator in charge of redirecting mail on the recipient's domain. On the other hand, a hard bounce is an email message that has been returned to the sender because the recipient's address is invalid.
In order to save credits you would otherwise waste, we have provided you with a tool to remove these unreachable contacts from your contact list. (One credit is one email the system sends to one person.)
Log into your NetRealCampaigns account, press on the "Campaigns Management" button on the top menu. The "Mailing List" tab is located at the top of the left-side menu.
Click on the "Manage contacts" link next to the list you want to clean up.
On the "Contacts Management" page, click on the "List clean up" link.
Clean up your list by removing soft or hard bounces or both, by checking the corresponding box in the form. Press on the "Submit" button to finish.
12. What is a subscription form and how can I get one?
The subscription form is a code that can be inserted into your website and your visitors will be able to subscribe to your mailing list (and the campaigns it contains) automatically. The tool will automatically add their addresses to your NetRealCampaigns mailing list and they will start getting emails immediately.
Log into your NetRealCampaigns account, press on the "Campaigns Management" button on the top menu. The "Mailing List" tab is located at the top of the left-side menu.
Click on the "Generate" link next to the list you want to modify.
Click on the "Customize subscription form" link to expand an editing form for the subscription code. You can change the font characteristics, family, size and color as well as the background color. The family and size are selected using the drop-down menus and the color by pressing the "Font Color"icon and clicking on the desired color.
You can also customize the subscription text, by editing the text in the "Subscription text" field.
Press the "Generate new code" button to save, or the "Return to default" button to revert to the default version of the code.
The code is in two versions: Iframe and JavaScript. Simply copy, then paste the code to your website code.
At the bottom you can find shortcuts to the subscriptions forms to all the other mailing lists.
Managing my campaigns
13. How do I assign extra campaigns to my contacts?
Log into your NetRealCampaigns account, press on the "Campaigns Management" button on the top menu. The "Mailing List" tab is located at the top of the left-side menu.
Click on the "Manage contacts" link next to the list you want to modify.
Use the tools on the "Contacts Management" page to assign extra campaigns to your contacts.
The contacts on this page will receive the campaigns assigned to the mailing list they belong to. You can assign extra campaigns to selected contacts, or unassign the default campaigns. Use the "Assign campaign" link at the bottom of the page to do this.
To assign a new campaign, check the box next to the contact's name, click on the "Assign Campaign" link. Next, select the campaign (or campaigns) you want assigned, by clicking on the box next to the campaign. Then, select the starting date for the campaign from the calendar that expands, simply by clicking on that particular day. The calendar is very easy to use, click on the small question mark at the top left of the calendar for additional help. To save, click on the "Assign campaign" button.
To assign more campaigns, repeat the operations described above for each contact. If you want to assign the same campaign to more contacts, first select them by clicking on the check boxes.
14. How do I unassign a campaign from a contact?
Log into your NetRealCampaigns account, press on the "Campaigns Management" button on the top menu. The "Mailing List" tab is located at the top of the left-side menu.
Click on the "Manage contacts" link next to the list you want to modify.

15. How do I edit a campaign?
Your campaigns are the means through which you will keep in contact with your clients and prospects. Our editorial team has prepared for you a list of professional, high-quality campaigns. But you can take charge of the content of the campaigns if you want to. You can create new messages, edit the original ones, or delete the ones you are not satisfied with.
Log into your NetRealCampaigns account, press on the "Campaigns Management" button on the top menu. The "List Campaigns" tab is located on the left-side menu.
You can find all the NetRealCampaigns organized on this page as a list. By clicking on the name of the campaign, you will access the editing page for the messages it contains.
You can undo all the changes you've made to a campaign by pressing the "Restore to default" link next to the campaign's name. You will restore all the original messages and all your customizations will be lost.
Each message has edit, delete, up, down and preview links next to it.
The "Up" and "Down" links change the order of the messages. Please note, that if the campaign is already assigned to a mailing list, and your contacts have already received some of the messages in the campaigns, you risk sending your contacts the same message twice. So it's advisable to change the order of the messages before you assign the campaign to a mailing list
By pressing the "Edit" link, you will access the editing page, where you will be able to modify or change the whole text as well as the subject line.
You can add personalized notes to your recipients, or remove parts of the message. You can virtually change the entire content of the message if you want.
Edit the subject line of the email by using the "Subject" field.
Use the online editor to edit or change the original content of the message. The system can automatically include personalized data for each contact. To allow it to do so, use the variables below the editor.
For example, instead of "Dear Joanne" write "Dear [contact_name]" (click on the "copy to clipboard" link to copy the variable, then paste it into the editor's field). The system will automatically replace the variable with the contact's name when the email message is generated. You can insert your contact's name, email, phone, mobile, and fax numbers, and ,of course, the address.
Press on the "Submit" button to save your message.
16. How do I create a new campaign?
If you are a VIP user, you can create your own, additional campaigns from scratch, by pressing the "Duplicate campaign" button.
Log into your NetRealCampaigns account, press on the "Campaigns Management" button on the top menu. The "List Campaigns" tab is located on the left-side menu.
Click on the "Duplicate campaign" link to create a copy of a campaign. To create a new campaign, simply edit the title, frequency and content of the messages of this copy.
After you've clicked on the "Duplicate" link, a copy of the original campaign will appear in the campaign list. Starting from this copy, you can create an entirely new campaign. You can change its name, by clicking on the "Edit name" link. You can replace the original content of the messages with your own, as well as add new ones. To set the email frequency, use the "Number of days" field on the "Add/Edit message" page, and set the number of days between each message.
17. What do I do if I made a mistake?
If you decide that you do not want to keep your edited messages in a campaign, you can return them to their original state.
Log into your NetRealCampaigns account, press on the "Campaigns Management" button on the top menu. The "List Campaigns" tab is located on the left-side menu.
You can undo all the changes you've made to a campaign by pressing the "Restore to default" link next to the campaign's name. You will restore all the original messages and all your customizations will be lost.

18. How do I access my statistics page?
The statistics page is the analysis center of your NetRealCampaigns Control Panel.

If these requirements are met and you still have trouble with the upload procedure, then contact us at
support@netreal.net (attach the picture to your email).
Short step-by-step guide
23. What is the easiest way to start sending my campaigns?
To start sending campaigns, you only need to tell the NetRealCampaigns system two things:
- To whom to send the campaigns to by creating mailing lists and adding your contacts;
- What campaigns to send each list.
Log into your NetRealCampaigns account. You will be automatically directed to the front page of your control panel where you will find shortcuts to the most basic tools of the system, organized for each of your mailing lists.
The mailing lists are the cornerstones of the NetRealCampaigns system.
A mailing list has three elements:
- the contacts it contains
- the campaigns assigned to it - these campaigns will be sent to all the contacts in the list
- the message template for your emails
To get you started, we have created three default mailing lists to help you test the system.Your email address has been added to all three of them. Our system starts sending you the first emails immediately after you've register. This way, you will be able to see how your messages will look like before you start adding your own contact list.
The shortcut links to the basic tools you need to set up your campaigns are: "Import contacts", "Manage Contacts", "Subscription Form" and "Manage List's Campaign" for each of your mailing lists.
1. Start adding contacts by clicking on the "Import Contacts" link.
You can import your contacts from your Outlook (and Outlook Express) address book.
Press the "Browse" button to import contact lists from your personal computer. Note that the list file must be in .CSV format. For more information about importing, please check out the two tutorials. Click each of the respective links to open windows containing detailed instructions regarding the importing process from Outlook Express and Outlook.
Click on the "Import contacts" button to finish.
2. You can also add the addresses manually from the "Add Contacts" page.
The "Add contact" page contains a form with several fields covering the basic personal data of each contact: name, email address, birth date, phone numbers and address. Use this form to add your contact's email and personal data to the contact list.
Fill in the fields with your contact's info, then press the "Submit" button to save. You can return to the contact list, by pressing the list's name at the top of the page.
3. Organize your contacts by clicking on the "Manage Contacts" link.
Add, edit, delete, search and import contacts, and clean up the unreachable recipients. You will be able to keep your list organized and up-to-date. Using the tools on this page, you will also be able to manage the campaigns sent to each individual contact.
Next, select the campaign (or campaigns) you want assigned to the contact, by clicking on the box next to the campaign.
To unassign campaigns from a contact, click on the "Unassign" link next to the contact to open a popup menu. This menu contains a list of the campaigns assigned to the contact and "Unassign" links next to them. Click on the "Unassign" link to remove a campaign.
4. The "Subscription Form" leads to a very special tool.
You can integrate this form into your website, and your interested visitors will be able to subscribe to one of your mailing lists using it. The tool will automatically add their addresses to your NetRealCampaigns mailing list and they will start getting emails immediately.
5. To set up the campaigns that will be sent to each mailing list, click on the "Manage List's Campaign" link.
Use the two boxes "Available campaigns" and "Mailing list campaigns" to add new campaigns, or remove old ones. Click on the campaign you wish assigned in the "Available campaigns" box, then click on the "Right arrow" button to add it to the "Mailing list campaigns" box. To select multiple campaigns, hold the Ctrl key down and select the campaigns by clicking with your mouse on them.
To remove campaigns, click on their names (hold down the Ctrl key for multiple selections) in the "Mailing list campaigns" box, then press on the "Left arrow" button to move them back to the "Available campaigns" box.
Once you have told the system what it needs to know, your work is mostly done. In the future, your only worry should be updating your mailing lists.
